Geriatric Resource Links

  • Geriatric Mental Health Foundation

    Provides helpful information to older adults and their families on topics including:  substance use, Alzheimer's disease, caregiving, depression, healthy aging and sleep.

     

  • National Institute on Aging

    Provides patient education on a variety of health related topics.  Most brochures are available online and free of charge.

     

  • Older Adults—Depression and Suicide Facts

    Discusses depression, suicide risk, and treatments for depression for older adults.

     

  • NIH Senior Health

    Various health topics are discussed on the National Institute of Health’s main senior health page.  Provides information on common diseases and conditions such as osteoporosis, diabetes, and balance problems in addition to exercise and other recommendations.

     

  • Alzheimer’s Disease

    Contains most everything you’d need to know about Alzheimer’s Disease.  Be sure to ask for the Playbook for Alzheimer’s Caregivers, a free publication.  There are extensive resources here for caregivers.
